I’ve been trying to perfect an almond cake that is light and fluffy and at the same time isn’t too almond-y… got it! Amazing with a black coffee!
After years of looking for the perfect spot, I’ve found it at last! Located in Clarendon, it will be a cool little bakery.
Doors open this spring!
Pictures coming soon.

Bakeshop is up and running. Orders are being taken for this week.
Murky Coffee will be getting a fresh batch of cupcakes tomorrow.
I return from New England with many inspirations. I visited many small farms and brought back great local ingredients. This dark amber maple syrup needs to be made into a cake asap!
I’ll be in Maine baking for a friend’s wedding celebration so I gotta shut the shop down for a week and give the mixers a rest. Things will be back up and running on August 4. Orders are being taken for Monday, August 4 and after. THANKS!
For a while I’ve been trying to perfect a hazlenut/nutella style frosting that is both chocolaty and hazelnutty. Finally got it! It has a nice smooth chocolate taste with an accent of hazelnuts. I toast hazelnut pieces and sprinkle on top. Euros are definitely going to like this one.
Now available: Strawberry Shortcake Cupcakes – fluffy white cupcakes topped with real strawberry buttercream. These are a really good summer snack. Stop by Murky Coffee Arlington and try one.
… if you like Neapolitan ice cream, you will really like the Chocolate Cupcake with Strawberry Buttercream frosting. It’s like the best parts of the Breyers three flavors ice cream without the vanilla, which is always eaten around and left for the scavengers. This is one of my favorites for sure.
The search for the perfect spot to open up Bakeshop continues. I’ve been looking almost 2 years for a place that I love, it needs to feel ‘just right’. The second floor above Murky Coffee Arlington is a very cool option that is being considered…. that would be a killer combination. Capitol Hill peeps have been adamant about the need for a bakery, definitely looking there. Thanks for all the leads people, keep em coming! Finding the right place is no joke, but I’m on it.
